Medical caps were especially designed for patients who lose their hair due to cancer treatments, alopecia and other medical conditions. One of the most important features is that it is designed in a way which doesn’t irritate the scalp. The inside of the cap is very comfortable and soft.

This comfortable cap construction has become so popular, not only for those with medical hair loss, but also for women with fine hair or without bio-hair who want to try another hairstyle. Many colors, lengths and sizes (XS-XL) are available. Check the size chart to find your size.

LACE TOP WIG COZY CAP

The lace base features a lace material and has a lace lining in which individual hairs are tied.
Lace bases are very lightweight and breathable - perfect for hot days.

Lace tops are good for people who have complete hair loss or alopecia, have receding hairlines, want to wear a completely different hair color than their own, or just want more styling or parting options.

Pros for Lace top

Breathability: a lace top is a more breathable and light weighted fabric compared to silk, as there are holes that allow air circulation, which makes it a great summer piece.

Lace is not heavy on the head. Volume can be created easily.

You can completely change the color of your hair, your own hair wil not be visible.
Glueless cap - Quick and easy application: does not require adhesives to stay secure, however it can be glued/taped.
Multi-directional & styling versatility: the hair can be parted anywhere in the lace top area. You can achieve flatness and also height/volume.
Lace top wigs come with ear tabs and a nape, so do not require adhesives, especially good for the first time wig wearers. However are available with no nape, shorter or no eartabs (personal preference).
Suitable for complete hair loss & bio hair underneath.

Potential considerations for Lace top

Because the material is thinner, it is also more fragile and delicate (and less durable) compared to a silk top. Not as beginner friendly and may take some time and practice to get used creating a completely new hairline.

Hair knots: The hairpiece itself may also need a little bit more customisation such as concealing the knots and even applying a little bit of concealer powder on it to blend to your skin.
Strands of hair are individually tied to a piece of sheer lace base creating a knot at the base, which can be visible around the hair parting line.

Bleached and unbleached knots

The knots are less visible when the hair is a light color.

With a darker haircolor these knots will be more visible.

In fact, it's hard to notice these knots from a distance. Some people don't mind these knots, but still many can't ignore them. Unbleached knots last longer and reduce hair shedding, but they’re more visible.

Bleaching the knots can compromise the integrity of the knot. It will weaken the knots and make the hair fall out faster. Bleached knots may give a more undetectable hair line it also causes the wig to shed faster. Knots can be disguised and concealed with scar tape on the inside of your cap, or a light concealer powder as it extends the longevity of the wig and often looks more realistic.

SEAMLESS SILK TOP LACE FRONT COZY CAP

The seamless silk top lace front construction has the best of both worlds. The advantage of lace to create volume in the front and the advantage of silk to achieve a natural hairpart. The transition between the lace front and the silk top is seamless. The inside of the cap is made of a very soft fabric for comfort and silicone lining is added for security.

A silk top is considered to be the most realistic looking scalp-like construction the market has to offer, an imitation of the scalp/hair implantation and therefore ensures the most undetectable result.

It mimics & creates the illusion of a human scalp, no knots are visible because each strand of hair is injected into a silk material that resembles skin. Unlike a lace top wig, the strands are knotted underneath the silk and pulled through just like hair growing from a human scalp.

This technique of injecting the hairs through the silk to conceal them, provides the illusion that the hair is coming from your own scalp when you wear it, making the knots 100% invisible, so you won't need to worry about any other techniques to make the knots invisible or less visible, because the knots are hidden under the silk base.

You don't need to use any concealer to mask the knots at the parting like a lace base may need.

Multi-directional & styling versatility: you can part your silk topper any direction, it replicates natural growth of hair from the scalp and allows to part the hair anywhere. Doesn’t have any flyaway hairs so the parting can be styled to be extremely flat.

Potential considerations for Silk top

Breathability: the material tends to be thicker compared to lace. Because there are multiple layers of material that is needed to create a silk top, it can lack breathability compared to lace. Silk may be slightly warmer to wear during the summer than lace.
