Completely tangle-free hair does not exist

Just like natural hair, extensions, wigs, and toppers can also tangle.
The longer & more processed (colored, bleached,...) the hair is, the more it will tangle.
Shorter pieces & natural colors will tangle less.
While human hair is more natural-looking and can be styled like your own hair, it is also more prone to tangling, especially if it's not maintained properly. Dryness, friction, and lack of moisture can all contribute to tangles in human hair.

Hair tends to tangle more in cold weather, especially long hair wigs & toppers.
This happens because:
Friction from Scarves & Coats - The back of the wig rubs against wool, scarves, and collars, causing matting.
Dry Air & Static - Cold weather reduces moisture in the air, leading to dryness and static buildup, making the strands cling together.
Wind Exposure - Wind can cause hair to tangle and knot.
Lack of Moisture - Just like natural hair, wigs need hydration. Dry winter air can make the hair brittle and prone to tangling.
How to Prevent Winter Hair Tangling:
Use Leave-In Conditioner and/or Detangler spray (Sulfate-Free): Keeps the hair hydrated and reduces friction. These products are designed to reduce tangling, make hair easier to manage, and add moisture. Only on the hair, never on the base.
Silicone-Based Serum - Helps smooth the hair and adds a protective layer.
Detangle Regularly - Use a wide-tooth comb or wig brush to prevent knots from forming.
Protect the Nape Area - Braid the lower section or use a silk scarf under coats to reduce friction.
Store Properly - When not wearing, keep the wig on a mannequin or in a silk bag to prevent static buildup.
Brushing a wig properly is key to preventing damage and maintaining its lifespan.
Use the Right Brush or Comb. Use a wide-tooth comb or a looped bristle wig brush.
To prevent any tension on the lace, hold the lace lightly with one hand to keep it in place while you brush with the other. ! Be sure to avoid pulling on the lace or tugging it while brushing.
Detangle in Sections
Divide the wig into small sections. Clip up the top layers and start with the bottom.
This helps avoid putting too much tension on the lace or base.
Start from the Ends, Work Upward
Hold the hair midway down the strand with one hand to prevent pulling.
Gently brush from the ends first, then move upward in small sections.
Support the Base
Hold the wig cap or lace with your other hand to stabilize it.
This prevents excessive stress on the knots and keeps the wig from shedding.
Use a Detangling Spray (Optional) on the hair, never on the base!
Lightly mist with a wig-friendly detangling spray or leave-in conditioner.
This helps reduce friction and makes brushing easier.
Regular Maintenance
Brush gently daily for human hair wigs.
Store on a mannequin head or silk bag to reduce tangling.
